Windows 7 – Problem Steps Recorder
Even PC experts still need help at times how much more with noobies. Requesting for help can be messy if the issues aren’t properly elaborated. Or you yourself cannot properly express what the real problem is. Thanks to Windows 7 Problem Steps Recorder (PSR). Issues with your PC can now be recorded without having to add third party applications. Screens are recorderd with every mouse clicks. You can even add comments to further elaborate the problem.
To test this out, follow these simple steps:
1. Click on the Windows icon. On the “Search programs and files” box, type: psr
2. The Problem Steps Recorder or PSR window will then comes out.
3. To start recording, just clik on the red “Start Record” button. You will also notice that the “Stop Record” and “Add Comment” are now active.
4. Steps or activity are then recorded on every click of a mouse. You can choose to add comments on a particular scene. Just click your mouse on that particular instance and then click the “Add Comment” button.
5. When your comment window pops out. Highlight anywhere on your screen where you want to further elaborate an issue and then type your comment on the comment window.
6. When you’re done recording, click on the “Stop Record” button. It will then prompt you to save the recordings. Just enter a file name and click on save.
7. The saved file is on a .zip format. Use that file to send to your friend Guru or PC Experts to help you solve the problem.
8. You may also view the content of that compressed file. Windows 7 also inherits the compress/extract file utility from Windows XP. Just right-click on the file and then extract.
9. Locate the extracted file and then double click. It’s on .mhtml format which can be opened using Internet Explorer.
Enjoy!
